Ever wanted to join roller derby? Find out all the info Saturday

Coffin County Roller Derby, a non profit roller derby league serving Cowlitz County and surrounding areas, will hold its last recruiting event for new skaters to join the teams from 7-9 p.m. March 31.

No skating experience or gear is necessary to get started, just come see what roller derby is about, and learn what you need to get started in this exciting new sport. All ages, men, women, and children welcome and the event is free.

Heart and Sole 5K/10K run/walk set for Feb. 11 in Longview

LONGVIEW, Wash. -- Bring the family to Longview's Heart and Sole Walk/Run, set for Feb. 11 at the Elks Building in Longview.

Enjoy the community, coming together to promote happy, healthy families. There will be a (free) mini K for kids 12 and under to run around a small track.

This run is organized by the Longview Kiwanis and proceeds benefit the City of Longview Teen Program. Registration is $15 per runner or $30 per runner and shirt. If registering online for the race and a shirt, click the 'details' hyperlink under the cost column in your basket to order a shirt.

Onsite registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by the event 60 minutes later.
