KELSO, Wash. -- Officials from Columbia River Carpet One have invited the public to celebrate their newly-remodeled store next week.

From 4-7 p.m. April 12, Columbia River Carpet One will host a celebration. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 5 p.m.

Hors d'oeuvres & Beverages will be served.

LONGVIEW, Wash. -- Officials from the City of Longview recently hired Chris Collins as the city's new Street/Stormwater Supervisor.

The City of Longview administers a below-market-rate, variable-term-loan program to assist new and expanding industrial and commercial businesses. Referred to as the Revolving Loan Fund, its purpose is to create new jobs, strengthen the city's and region's economy, encourage revitalization of downtown Longview, and encourage development of the City's Mint Farm Industrial Park and other industrial parks.

SWWDC secures $2.4 million to train over 1,000 employees in IT, advanced manufacturing

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Officials from Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council (SWWDC) have been awarded two Department of Labor grants for more than $2.48 million to train Clark, Cowlitz, and Wahkiakum County workers in information technology (IT) and advanced manufacturing industries. The grants are part of a $9.5 million grant initiative led by Portland-based Worksystems, Inc., in partnership with Workforce Investment Council of Clackamas County (WICCO) and the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP).

The Electric Bean puts on its first songwriters showcase Wednesday

The event will feature Chrissy Shelton as its first spotslighted songrwriter.
